Join us for a delightful culinary adventure as we learn to make Daifuku Mochi – a traditional Japanese sweet made with glutinous rice cake and a sweet filling like red bean paste, strawberries or ice cream.
I will guide us through the process, showing us how to create the perfect chewy texture and delicious filling. No prior experience is needed, just come with an open mind and a desire to learn!
At this Mochi Making Workshop, you’ll create traditional Japanese Daifuku mochi using mochi dough (classic, matcha, and yomogi), white and red bean paste, and fresh fruit (strawberries or mixed berries). During the workshop, you’ll also learn about the cultural significance of Mochi in Japan and the history of the beans used in the paste. Once you’ve completed your creations, you can enjoy the mochi along with specially selected Japanese tea. You can also take home the mochi you made to share with your family and friends.
